1990 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

my fuel pump relay does not pick when the key is the on position and the car doesnt start. But when you try turning the motor and it doesnt crank ill let the key go and then hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds like it should when the key is in the on position. What would cause this. Also the engine light is not working I checked the bulb.

As far as the ses lite, did you check for voltage and ground? At the instrument cluster connector, D11 is voltage for the ses, goes hot when you turn on the key. D16 is ground controlled by the ecm. If you can't read the picture maybe you can hit control + on your keypad to enlarge. You may have a problem with ecm, hard for me to be sure?
