2005 Chevy Impala jerks and or/ sluggish

Sometimes I can be pulling off from a dead stop sometimers not and the whole car will jerk forward and sometimes goin down the road it will feel like it has just all the power the car is a LS model with the 3800 series 2 and a 4t65e tranny. What do I need to be looking aty and for

If the check engine light is on then have the computer scanned for codes and get back to us. Autozone does it for free, other than that I would install a new fuel filter, thats about the only thing that will cause lack of power.

There is no check engine light the fuel filter is fairly new it was replaced a few months ago. The tranny fluid has black in it it was a tad low put some in now its not as bad
