Hello, I have a 2000 impala 3.8 liter 4t65e transmission and I am having shifting problems from 1st to second gear. At first it did it rarely and it is getting worse. I myself have replaced the pressure control solenoid but it seems like the problem comes more when the weather is hot and/or the engine temp is hot. Did I need to reset the trouble codes after the repair and how, would that make a difference? Also, should I have replaced the 1-2 and 3-4 shift solenoids as well. Do you think it could be because of the fluid not being cooled properly? Worn clutch pack? I really appreciate your response. This car is driving me crazy.

Are you getting trouble codes, and what are they? You replaced the pressure control solenoid, but that may not have been the source of the fault.

No trouble codes. No check engine light is coming on at all but I know there is a serious problem.

It is a firm or harsh shift from first to second only? The fact that it occurs warm could be sticking or binding in the valve body after metal expansion or warpage is more influenced. I will include the diagnostic info for 1-2 shift feel fault possibilities.
