Hello, I just purch this vehicle. I have a issue with car not wanting to start after it has warmed up. This is a 3800 V-6, 142K, Auto, and when it runs, runs beautifully. Cold starts everytime. Warm up to operate temp, shut off, restart within a couple mins, OK. Problem is if you shut off and try to restart in a 15 - 25 min window, ( run into store for a bit) it will just turn over or try to start and spit and sputter and die. Keep restarting to no avail. The longer you sit and wait, the more it acts like it wants to start. Usually have to let it sit 20 - 30 mins before it will start and then reluctently, it will spit and sputter and if you give it quarter throttle it will come out of it and be ok. Leave it set for 45-60 and it will start up as if nothing wrong and run for hours! As long as you do not shut off ignition.

I would start with a check of the fuel pressure. Sounds like it may be bleeding into the engine causing a "flooded" condition, but if left a little longer the fuel dries up and it will start. Begin with the fuel pressure regulator mounted on the fuel rail with a vacuum line to intake. Start car and then shut it off, remove vacuum line at regulator and see if there is any fuel present, if so replace the regulator. If that ias okay I would change out the engine coolant temperature sensor.
