2004 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive 52000 miles

Sometimes when I turn the key to start the car, it seems like it has started and I let go of the key, but then the car continues to turn over as if i'm still holding the key in the start position for several seconds and then it quits. Rarely does this result in the car actually starting. This happens maybe 15% of the time I start the car. When I try to start the car again, it has always started right up.

Does vehicle have a remote starter or did it? If yes then have it removed

I do not believe it has one. However, I have only had the car for a couple of months.
