2004 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 65K miles

hi. Will engine/starter lock down if engine oil not replaced after light goes on? (Drove more than 2k over limit). How does one reset the computer? Thanks. Herman.

No, the engine will not shut down due to the light. To reset, turn the key to the run position (DO NOT START ENGINE), press the gas pedal to the floor 3 times and wait for a few seconds. THe light will either flash, you may hear a ding, or nothing will happen but the light should be reset.
