I know there is something wrong, but I am afraid to just go to a shop, being a woman I have been ripped off before. When I need to brake, especially at high speed my steering wheel shakes so bad, now I feel it at the pedal also in my driver seat. I know it is not safe regardless of what my husband says. I need to travel about 400 miles, leaving in 3 days.

What is your recommendation?

Thanks so much
Kate

Yes, I would have it checked out before a long trip. It could be a warped brake rotor, or a loose suspension component like a outer tie rod, ball joint, bearing. Any of these that fail could cause injury.

Find a local ASE shop, I prefer local business as opposed to a chain. Check references, BBB, chambe of commerce.
