Possibly the ignition system, those engines have a distributor behind the water pump, its driven by the cam. If youve ever had a coolant leak above it it could have shorting issues. They also had bearing problems

I was thinking it might be a cam sensor. I have to take the same parts off to get to the distributor or the cam sensor. I probably will replace both parts when I do. Thanks for the reply.
