I have a 2000 corvette (c-5) recently my engine was running hot, temp guage indicated 220 degrees, I look at my rad. Fans and it just turn off.

The vette seems to run hot when at idel and moving slowly as well.

Try replacing the thermostat if it continues have it block and pressure tested.

I look at my rad. Fans and it just turn off. Lol-is the cooling fan coming on? If not could be the caused of your problem.

Thanks for your help, the fans are on but like I said they will turn off especially when it's getting hotter, they come and go on spariadically. I'm thinking thermostate switch!

I also have a leak with my water pump, which is being replaced with thermosate next week when parts come in.

Could be the coolant temperature sensor or the engine temperature gauge switch and thermostat
