There is a winding noise coming from under the center of the car, maybe the front. I was low on trans fluid so I added a quart. The next day it stopped. Day after, back. No noticeable leaks. When I hit the power window button, the noise changes pitch, same when im driving and hit the breaks. Is it in the tran?

Hi:

From what you are saying, it sounds like an electrical issue. If the sound changes when you run an electrical item like power windows and when the brake lights come on, it may have something to do with the alternator. Does the sound change when any electrical item is used?

Thanks for the reply. The Noise Does change when windows or brakes r used. It is also running rough. I diagnosed it and it gave me a prob with the O2 censor. I dont know if that will stop the sound. But it may prevent the bucking. It cuts out once n a while. Sitting at a stoplight its r-r-r-unning. I don't like this car and i'm stuck paying $3000 for it. Theyre is a leak in a valve above the air intake and I wedged it closed. Now it doesnt loose horsepower. Think it had more air in the mix. I dont know. Please Help

I wish I was there to help. However, I can't be. The o2 sensor will most likely get rid of the running problem you're having. However, the noise is another thing. Since you know it needs an o2 sensor, get that replaced. After you get it running correctly, we'll work on the noise. Does the sound happen when you run anything electrical? It wouldn't be the serp belt sliping when a load is placed on the alt?

Also, I'm not sure what valve you are refering to above the intake. Is there any way for you to identify it?

Let me know how you make out, and we'll go from there.

I loof forward to hearing from you.

Thanks. I haven't had the time nor the money for that o2 censor. I dont believe its the belt. Im thinking fuel pump. No idea. No time. Im in the proses of moving. I'll c what I can do and get back to u. The guy who sold it to me ownes a auto-body shop, so mechanic he isnt. Asked him to fix the prob moths ago. All I got from him was a new muffler and a $300 bill. I'll talk later
