The wipers just stop. It used to be if you tapped on the wiper box they would work. Now that doesn't work but sometimes they work by themselves for a while and then stop again. How do I repair them.

Hi:
When you say wiper box, do you mean the motor itself? Note: If you tapped on someting to make it work, chances are there is a loose connection, ground problem, or a short in the motor.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

The early 90 models were famous for having a cold solder joint on the ckt board that controls the wipers.
It was very obvious. Take out the board, resolder that 1 spot and everything worked fine. I thought sure they had fixed that by now?

My 97 C2500 had the same problem last summer. Mechanic diagnosed that the "wiper control module" needed to be replaced. After this fix I never had another problem with it. Maybe this will help
