93 Cavalier with coolant leak

My 93 Cavalier has a coolant leak. I don't know how to tell you where the leak is at but I will try. As you are looking at the engine it is kinda towards the top and in front. You can see the line where the coolant is leaking - not much help - sorry.

Lately, her temp gauge is flucuates dramatically. Her thermostat is new, water pump is about 3 years old. Last time the mechanic looked at it there was no mixing of the fluids.

Would this leak call for head gasket repair?

If you can get a picture, would be more helpful. Don't think it is a head gasket issue as you would have coolant in the oil and you would notice white smoke out of the tail pipe.
