2003 Chevy Cavalier speedometer and fuel gauge

I bought the car for my son w/ the speedometer and fuel gauges out of scale. Is it a simple fuse problem or even worst. Thanks ted

It depends. Please explain in detail as to what the problem or what the needles are doing.

Both needles were out of scale always and after engine starts it just oscillates

Based on the diagnostics, if the vehicle speed sensor is operational and the speedometer is fluctuating, replace the instrument panel.
