Traction light

After about 20 min of driving the trac off light pops up on my dash. The car will start acting like its not getting enough gas then it will just die. I pull over give it about one min and it will crank back up drive for about 4 to 6 miles and do it again.

I am a girl. I don't know the size of my engine :roll: It's a 2002, chevy cavalier automatic. It's got 80,000 miles. I think its a 4 cylinder. But it may be a 6. (?) The check engine light comes on after the car reaches normal driving temp. Also the trac off light comes on. And if I drive very long the car will occasionally try to die on me. None of the men I know- know anything about this. I already ridiculed em all, cuz aren't all boys born with every car repair answer? :Roll: Help please?

The trac off light is asking for a new trany filter. I have a 2000 and when the trac light comes on it shifts very hard. There aren't any codes in the computor for it. I changed the filter an all was well.
