Engine Performance problem
2000 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive 134000 miles

ran out of gas the other day. Wouldnt start, ran down battery and broke ignition lock cylinder. Since then. Ive recharcharged battery, replaced fuel and air filter. Using screw driver as key to crank engine. Still having trouble starting. I have got it started twice now and go for a little spin around the block but when I turn off engine it wont start again. It sounds as if it dont get enough gas? I'm thinking spark plugs, fuel injectors, or anti theft? Please help, dont have job rite now and living on tight budget.

When it doesn't start does the security light flash or stay on steady?

Hey, crazy thing! I got it to crank (with screwdriver) then I took the lock cylinder apart and fiddled with that and shoved it back in and it's working too! The alarm light was flashing but it's not now. Plus those three wires that were attached to the cylinder I didn't reattach them cuz they don't wanna stay. I'm thinking this is a quick fix cuz sooner or later I'm gonna need a new lock cylinder and don't know how I'm running the car without the wire attachment?

At least you got the car running again and know what you have to do when it stop's again. Good luck with your car.
