Car wont start eng. Wont turn over

Car was running stop at store turn off eng. Car set about 30 min. Got in started the car put it in rev. And it went forward. Stop put it in park still moved forward turn off eng. Would not turn back on dead. Could not fell the change in gears

You've got a problem with the shifter and the neutral safety switch. The neutral safety switch is a device that cuts out the ignition system and starter if the transmission and shifter aren't in Park or Neutral. See if adjusting it works.

Remove the console, exposing the innards of the shifter. Lift and unlock the shifter cable retainers and then push and unlock the shifter neutral lock clip. Center the lock clip by moving the shifter slightly. Put the transaxle in neutral. Press and lock the shift cable retainers. Pull the shifter lock clip to its original position and reinstall the console.
