Transmission problem 4 cyl Automatic

Trans shifts funny it slips then bangs into gear fluid and filter have been changed fluid level is full HELP!

Feel a bang like dumping a clutch. And feels like it downshifted. Doesn't happen all the time. From a stop you'll stsrt moving and around 15 to 20 mph it bangs like a hard shift but feels like it downshifted then kind of shutters you'll let off gas peddle in reaction and it seems to clear and start working normal again. If others are riding with me in the car thev will feel it also. I'm not an auto mechanic but I was a aircraft crew chief on fighter planes for the air force for nine years and I would really like to get your opinion as to what might be happening.

Hello,

It sounds like the transmission filter has fallen out case and the unit is sucking air. Here is a guide to help you take a look to see if this is the problem.
