Hi, I hope you can help me.

My son replaced the PCM on the Cavalier and the car will not start.

My scanning tool shows a code PO122 and P1336. Do I have to enter a "learn procedure" for the PCM? The throttle positioning censor for the PO122 was replaced, and before the PCM was changed, that was the only code it had but the car would not start.

Any help is very appreciated!

Hello,

In most cases the vehicle will go through a relearn but will usually take 500 miles or more or 100 or more key starts.

My question to you is why was the PCM replaced?

I ask because the p1336 is the pcm Crankshaft Position System Variation Not Learned.
Which could very well be that the Crank Shaft Sensor is bad. And that may have been the no start problem before replacing the PCM.

I just changed crank positioning censor and tried starting it again. I get P1336 on my Actitron OBD2 scanner and it comes up as a manufacture control ignition supply or misfire.

I also have PO122 showing up. It starts, but then dies. Thanks again!

The PCM has to be programmed using a GM specific diagnostic scanner.
