1997 Chevy Cavalier replacement ECM

After installing replacement ecm, how do I relearn procedures if required

Well the ecm relearn is diff on diff cars. Yours is pretty simple and will for the most part relearn itself.
Disconnect neg cable on your batt.

Replace the ecm. If your new ecm does not come with the prom you will need to change that. Use the tool do not touch the prom with your fingers, the oil from your skin will damage it.

Once replaced reconnect the batt. Start the eng. Let it idle until it reaches normal operateing temp.
Wait for the fan to come on and off. Now put car in drive hold the brake let it idle until fan comes on and shuts off. Drive the car for ten mins.

On the test drive go from 0 to 50 mph several times. Your ecm should be relearned now. Thanks billymac
