I have two questions
I recently bought a 99 z28 with a 6 speed, the car has 86000 miles and has just developed a shifting problem. When changing gears (up or down) it makes a whining sound. It will do this most of the time. If I pull it back to neutral it will percist until I press and release the clutch again. It started one day when I pulled into a parking lot and went to shift into 1st. I couldn't get it to go into any gear so I shut it off and it shifted fine, so I started it in gear, and it has done it ever since.

Also the car misfires on the no 7 cylinder, I checked for spark and changed the plug, and everything seemed fine but have done nothing else. What is the easest way to check for fuel to the cylinder. How do I find the bad part.

Thanks

The shifting problem is definitely the throw out bearing. I don't know about the other problem. It sounds like the ignition coil for that cylinder has went out, but if it's got spark, then I don't know.

But if you want spark, you need me. And you know it. Too bad you can't have me.
