I have just recently picked up an 86 Iroc Z28 with a TPI 305. I am looking to make it a daily driver and soon to pass on to my son who will soon learn to drive.I am looking for possible solutions and or an expolded view of the steering column. The issue is the steering wheel has a lot of play, steering is tight, tilt is tight-the wheel is very sloppy?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

You need some special tools and maybe a pal who has done a GM tilt column overhaul.

There is a compression tool, used to hold the spring loaded plate down while you remove the snap ring.
