My camaro had the factory 195' thermostat running 205'. I don't like high temps, so I installed a 165' thermostat. I did that on 2/12 and yesterday, 2/20, the gauge stopped working. It won't go up or anything, its just sits below 0'. The electric fan is constantly running; I've flushed the radiator and motor and changed the antifreeze, but still don't know why its not working.

Just my opinion, I'd leave the original thermostat in it. 205 isn't too hot. Check for trouble codes, generic as well as manufactuer specific. See if a code points at anything? Maybe an issue with coolant temp sensor?
