1983 Chevy Camaro HELP!

Ok heres the deal I just bought my 83 camaro and it has 64 k miles on it, its all stock my problem is if I floor it it will die and I cant figure it out if I slowly go up in rpm's I could redline it if I wanted but if I floor it it dies also it wont start at first without starting fluid but after that none is needed and also while im driving it I have to give it a rediculas amount of gas to go very slow. Can anyone help me out?

You have to put if this is carbureted or dual TBI installed on it as it could be a few different things. First thing you should do is see if there are any codes stored in the computer. Cross A&B in the ALDL it's below the steering column and turn the key on and watch the servie engine light flash. Count the flashes 1- 3 times then 2 - 3 times = 12. Then come to the site here and look under obd1 for what that means. Sensor wise. It could also be a fuel pump/filter problem as well. But check the codes first. Then let us know if it's dual TBI or carb.
