I have a Chevy Blazer and the other day the hook that latches the front drivers side door when you close it got stuck in the locked position and now the door won't close. The hook wont latch or move. I tried shutting off the car, reseting the alarm, but the latch won't move. What am I doing wrong and do I have to take the whole inside of the door apart?
Help please. It supposed to rain tomoroow and I hope this is just an easy thing to fix myself

Will the latch turn if you hold the handle in the open position?

Hi:
If that is the case, you will need to remove the door panel. It sounds like the linkage has come apart to the handle. Once you remove the panel, let me know what you find and I'll try to guide you.

Well I decided to check the passenger sdie door so as I was looking at what the latch/hook mechanism I pushed it in and NOW the passenger side latch/hook won't come undone. So now I have both doors that won't close. Are you sure its the linkage on both doors could that possible break on both doors.

Hi:
No, that doesn't make sense. Listen, if you pushed the lever and it latched in the closed position, you should be able to pull the door handle and move it back into the open position. There will be tension on it and it may require some persuasion, but it should go. I agree with you. It's highly unlikely that both linkages went at the same time.

Let me know if this helps.
