1997 Chevy Blazer Automatic 197000 miles

I just went and bought a brand new starter and put it on. I went to start it was starting fine turned it off than tried starting again would not start for a while got it running again and redid the same thing turned off than back on but this time when I turn the key over only the starter motor runs but does not turn the engine over.

New starter won't crank engine over sounds like the the overunning clutch on the starter is slipping.

Oh okay thank you I will take the starter back and exchange it then being it is under a warranty and hope this works and again thank you.
