turn key to start dash lights and wrning lights come on, gages work, but will not turn over, do not get any sound at all, no clicking or anything, everything was working fine all day yesterday, then went to go to stare and nothing, battery is charged, put charger on it to be sure. Side post battery, pull cables off and cleaned the connections, still nothing. Was told it was starter locking up to tap it lightly with hammer to free it up, lol didnt work. If I pull starter off, can a autoparts store test it?, Could it be crank fuse and if so where would I locate it under the hood.

If you do any testing, make sure the tranny is in park or neutral and a functional e-brake is set. With key in the crank position, purple wire at starter solenoid should be hot? If it isn't you backtrack the circuit. If no feed, you can take the purple wire loose from S terminal, jump feed from battery terminal to S terminal, see if starter will crank. It will crank, no matter what gear you have it in, need to make SURE about the tranny.

Yes, some of the national brand autostores will check the starter, if you take it to them.
