Hi my question is about my passenger side door. It won't close. The piece that latches on to the metal post on the door sprung up. Is there a way to pull that piece back down or does it have to be replaced now?

It sounds like your latch is in the closed position. Simply grab a screwdriver and slip it behind the jaw while simultaneously lifting the door handle outside and it will pop open.

And I didn't need a man to help me! Some of us girls don't know a darn about cars and I just wanted to give the men in my life a break for a change and fix my own car problem. But, you are probably a guy but that's o.K! Now I just have to find the part that goes on the inside where the latch grabs a hold. The one on my driver side door is completely toast. You have a good day and thanks again so very much!

Being a girl has no bearing on anything. I talk to a lot of females that know a lot more about cars than some of the guys we see here.
Good luck
