I noticed that the antifreeze container was low after my daughter complained of engine smell and smoke. I put some antifreeze in and most if not all of it came right out the bottom of the car. Does this sound like a hose issue or could it still be a water pump issue?

This does sound more like a failed pump. I suspect the pump seal on the front pushed out and when you put coolant in, it pours out the front of the pump.

Here are some guides that will help with all this:

I would suggest just pouring some water in the system and just lay on the ground to the side of where you see the coolant coming out. This will allow you to see where it is coming from.

I attached the info from the manual on how to replace the water pump in the event I am correct.
