1997 Chevy Astro 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My van was running then turned off, the battery may have a leak, but now as I try to get a jump there is no power what so ever. Could it be the alternator? Its at a gas station, either a tow truck or fix it, no money for both

Hi:
when you hook the jumpers on to your battery, do you get any lights that work? If not, make sure the battery terminals and the ground to the block and the positive to the starter are clean and tight.

Let me know what you find.

A bolt on the starter was loose and stripped the linning, my friend fixed it, runs fine. For now. Thanx again Joe
