Hi, I got the check engine light, used a scanner, got code po340, camshaft position sensor. I was recommended to replace it, I bought it, but can’t seem to locate it on the engine. I need help please? I searched everywhere on Google images, YouTube, but can’t find it. I have the DOHC Ecotec 2.2.

The cam sensor is near the oil filter on the block. I attached the info below for this code as it could be the sensor but there are other things that could cause this.

However, if it ends up being the sensor then I attached all the needed info to replace it. Let me know if you have questions. Thanks

Hi Kenny, thank you so much for your quick reply and answer. I want to go head and replace the camshaft position sensor with the diagram you provided, but still could not locate it.

I was wondering if you may see it on one of these images or point me to the right direction. I am a novice, but trying my best. Thanks again for your time.

I think I found the issue. You said that this was the 2.2 DOHC but I think the DOHC was only available in a 2.4L. I provided the info prior on the 2.2L which is different.

If you still can't find it, can you try and get a picture of your engine in the same orientation as shown below in the last attachment? Clearly it doesn't need to be framed the same but we just need to orient ourselves so getting a little further back will help us locate this.

Hi Kenny, I'm pretty sure it's DOHC as I have checked with the VIN number, I have heard that was new to the 2002 models anyway yeah I still can't find it, I took some pics to see if it would help. Thanks again I appreciate your help.

It is going to be under the fuel rail. I circled the general area. I would follow that harness that is in that circle as well as I suspect that will lead to the connector.
