The car that I was replacing the sensor on suddenly the check engine light will not come on at all now and caused a fail at e Check today. It was working fine yesterday and all I did was replace a sensor. What happened now? Thanks

Does the light come on for a couple seconds when you first turn the key to the on position? If the light does not come on at all, the first thing I would check is the bulb itself.

Thanks. Do you have instructions on how to remove the dash to get to it? Also, I am trying to get to that bank 1 sensor from underneath the car. Really not a lot of choices and not to keen on removing the plenum because of all the connections.

I think you popped a fuse or the sensor shorted which made the fuse fail. Here is a guide to help you check the system fuses:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

Here are the fuse locations (below) along with a wiring diagram of the ALDL connector.

I would also see if a code reader will power up.

Check out the diagrams (below).

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken

Hello,
Thanks for all the diagrams. I went to a junkyard and pulled the instrument cluster out of the same model and installed it on my van. Now all the lights work including the check engine. I have to run through a drive cycle again and hopefully the check engine light will stay off. I have a OBDII scanner which is helpful. Only question I now have is, how to turn back the mileage to the correct miles? Thanks

You cant, or I should say you will need to have it changed by someone that rebuilds the clusters because it is programmed in.
