Hi Guys, new the the jeep world and have a question about the Carb. The jeep smokes black when running which I know is a mixture issue. Also, the jeep will not idle off choke, it just dies out. I've read several forums that say the most likely problem is the Air Venturi is clogged in the Carb and that fixing it is relatively easy and takes about an hour to tear apart, clean and reassemble. Is this the first step in in checking the carb? Are you guys aware of any good video's that show the process for doing this? I am somewhat mechanically inclined, I just don't have any real experience with carbs and don't want to open up a birds nest of problems.

This sounds more like a rebuild than cleaning out. It sounds as if there is some accelerator pump/power valve if you have one issue. Probably due to age and alcohol in today's fuel.
