We thought we had a catalytic converter problem. Yesterday evening we started to smell a sulfur like, rotten egg type smell. When we looked up other symptoms (loss of fuel mileage, car struggling to start, check engine light on constantly) we found we experienced all of them. This morning when we woke up the car would not start. Thank you so much in advanced for your advice.

Good afternoon.

The smell may be from the engine running rich. That is why the converter smells.

As far as the check engine light, I would need the code to help you with that. You can go to a parts store and have it read for free.
