My car says check VSC, traction, check engine light. Then the car made a little noise and didn’t accelerate and when I pulled over it stopped wouldn’t move and white smoke started to appear from under the hood. Also, while driving I noticed near the pedal was a little hot and the car coolant sensor went from hot to cold. I have already replaced my radiator and starter. Help. I am a college student away from home trying to get it fixed.

Sounds like the engine may have stalled and overheated.

So, let's start with this and see what we turn up. This means we need to check for codes. If these lights turned on due to the issue, then there will be codes to go along with it.

If there are no codes, then we are going to have to check for a failed head gasket.

Here is a guide that will help:

Next, we are going to have to check the coolant level and make sure it is normal and that it is not oil contaminated. If you changed the radiator, then I assume it is fine now but how was it before you changed it?

Does the engine start at this point or can you get it started?
