Car had a A/C not blowing cold issue. I started checking all the fuses to ensure nothing was wrong there. There are three fuse locations that I noticed. Engine, driver side next to the door and passenger side next to the door. I don't believe but could be possible that I may have accidentally placed a fuse at the wrong place after checking. Not new to this but still possible. Right before I did that, the car was turning on fine no issues. After I did that and tried to turn on the car again to see the A/C issue, the car never started. It would only crank or make the ignition starting noises but would never start. I noticed different things coming on the dash lights and took my OBD to get all the details. They are attached. I did try to erase the codes to see if that would allow me to get it going but even my OBD said codes erased, the codes still stayed there and no dash light removed either. I even have a video that I am trying to upload, might have to compress it as it is making some bell sound as well when I put the car key in the ignition.

Hi,

By chance, could you upload the codes that were found? Also, I need you to check something for me. Either we lost spark or fuel to the engine. So, first, see if you notice the fuel pump prime when you first turn the key to the run position. Additionally, I need you to check for spark to the plugs. Once we determine which one is missing, it will narrow things down. Here is a link that explains how to test for spark:

I did attach the power distribution schematics below. Do me a favor. Check fuse number 31 in the fuse box at the right or left end of the dash. Based on the production date, it could be on either side. That fuse powers the ignition coils. Make sure that fuse is installed and in good condition.

I attached the fuse boxes (left and right and I highlighted the fuse to check. Here is a link you may find helpful as well:

I hope this helps. Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Note: I had to cut the schematic pages in half to make them readable. I did overlap them for you so you can follow from one to the next.

Hey JacobandNicholas, thanks for the quick response. I am sure I attached the codes to the post. Not sure why you some see it. Here they are again. I'll check the fuse and I don't recall if it was priming. I'll recheck. I'm the meantime, Maybe the attach video might help?

Checked the fuses. Don't see any issues there though what I noticed something per the diagram you sent me fuse 31 for the right side is written on fuse 30 per the manual. Fuse 31 was next line all the way to the right. I checked both 30 and 31 regardless. I also noticed the description of both of them refers to parking brake not ignition. The fuse 14 and 16 on the left side mentioned to be ignition switch but I checked them just in case and don't see any issues. I also hear a very light sound when I had the car key in ignition. I'm not entirely sure but could be the prime sound?

Hi,

Were you able to check for spark to the plugs? Also, VW is really interesting with how they change fuse box layouts. I've seen four changes in one year.

Let me know the production date of the vehicle. It should be on a label on the door frame (driver's side).

Also, I want you to try something. See if it starts for a couple of seconds and then stalls if you use starting fluid.

Let me know.

Joe
