There is a couple of ways to approach this, and the circuit is pretty basic and uncomplicated. Look under the hood for the starter relay. Pull it out, then there will be four terminals in the socket. The system can be broken down into four circuits, and each one has a test point in that socket. You can use a digital voltmeter, but for this type of circuit, a test light can be faster and more accurate. Regardless what you use, do not push the probe into the terminals as that can stretch them, leading to future intermittent problems.

One of those four terminals must have 12 volts all the time. If you find that, we only need to look at the other three terminals. One of them must have 12 volts when a helper turns the ignition switch to "crank". If that is missing, we will need to look at the ignition switch and the clutch switch.

Now move your test light's ground clip lead to the battery's positive post for the next two tests. We will be testing for good ground circuits. Probe the two remaining terminals in the starter relay socket. The test light should be bright on both of them, or you should find 12 volts with a voltmeter.

One of those four tests should point to the part of the circuit we need to look at closer.
