Last week, I got in my car and it started up fine. I put it in reverse and when I put it into drive, the car wouldn't go, it would only rev. It's almost like it's stuck in neutral. It will only park. I have tried changing all the gears and the car will only rev or go into park. I have been all over the internet and I have only gotten a few answers that I am not positive about like neutral safety switch went bad or the transmission control solenoid is bad. The car didn't make any strange noises when it stopped working correctly. Can you please please help me?

Good morning,

This issue is mechanical, not electrical.

The first thing I would do is drop the pan and change the fluid and filter. A clogged filter will cause this.

Beyond that, it is either the torque converter that has failed or the front pump in the transmission itself. that would require removal of the transmission and either rebuilding it or replacing it.

1. With torque converter removed from trans-axle, position Holding Wire tool No. T77L-7902-A or T77L-7902-R or equivalent in thrust washer slot.
2. Install one-way clutch torquing tool No. T81P-7902-B or equivalent in reactor spline while holding wire in position.
3. Turn torquing tool counterclockwise using a suitable torque wrench. If torque tool begins to turn before torque wrench reads 10 ft lbs, replace converter assembly.
