Car started to shudder a little when driving under thirty five mph. I stopped at a stop light and when light turned green I pressed the gas, the car revved up but would not budge. I tried to put it in reverse and the "manual" mode but no luck. I have been told this might be a bad CVT transmission or some internal transmission issues but want to make sure before I start saving up the $2,000.00 to $3,000.00 to get a new/or rebuild. It has been sitting all week and also is now making a ticking noise when I rev it up. No check engine light or anything came up. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Run a scan on the transmission as some code will not set a check light, ensure that the transmission oil is full and not burnt. To start lets run the codes to see what come up. Here is a guide. It sounds like a transmission shaft speed sensor can be out.

It could have shaft speed sensor that has gone out.

I just had the exact same problem with my 2009 Nissan Rogue. No alerts on dash. Felt it missing. Pulled right over. From there, it would not drive or reverse. So I installed a input shaft speeds sensor and it worked. Here is the sensor I replaced (below).

Hello.

This code is for the output speeds sensor issue which most of the time the sensor needs to be replaced here is a diagram of the location.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
