Engine does not cool down even when off for hours

My car has been giving me a "high temp engine" alert and I've had the car off for hours. It went through an oil change about 2 weeks ago. I've added coolant. And I have no leaks. Please help!

Good morning,

This indicates the engine is overheating or running above the normal temperature.

If your coolant level is good I suggest replacing the thermostat as this is what controls the engine temperature. I attached the procedure below for you to view.
