Can a diagnostic test tell me about a fuel filter?

I am just wondering if a diagnostic check will tell me if I need a new fuel filter?

Hello, I'm Danny.

To answer your question not necessarily. If by chance the filter was so clogged or restricted that it cut off the fuel supply to the engine it might trigger a check engine light or fault code. Mostly fuel filters are just replaced by mileage as routine maintenance. Here is a tutorial showing how to replace a fuel filter:

I've attached picture steps below showing how to change the fuel filter and its location on your vehicle. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

One more question. Which fuse should I pull before starting to disable the fuel relay? I am conflicted here. My manual says 11and 12 are the injectors and pump but I have also seen people who say 8 which is listed as control modules/engine auto transmission. 8 is the larger 60A and 11 and 12 are 10A and 20A. Sorry, I am sure you know all of that. I am just explaining what I see and heard.

Hello again.

Here is the information you requested. In the under hood fuse-relay box is where you will find the relays for the fuel injection system and fuel pump relay. The fuel injection relay is in #1 location and the fuel pump relay is in location #103. I've attached picture below showing the locations and marked in red. Here is a tutorial showing how to test relays:

Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
