Codes P0345 and P0349, Camshaft Position sensor A bank 2 location?

Good afternoon y’all, trying to find the Camshaft Position sensor A bank 2 location. Would really appreciate your help in locating this so I can fix it. I’m getting a P0345 and P0349 code on my scanner.

Good afternoon,

I attached the possibilities for you below as well as the procedure for the cam sensor.

Check the voltage to the sensor as well. You need 5 volts with the key on.

The sensor is on the back of the left cylinder head. There are 2. If I were you, I would replace both while you are there.

Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor - 5.0L (4V)

Removal

Both RH and LH intake Camshaft Position (CMP) sensors and RH exhaust CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor

1. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.

2. Remove the bolt and the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor.

LH exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor

3. Position the vehicle on a hoist. For additional information, refer to vehicle Jacking and Lifting. See: Vehicle Lifting > Procedures > Jacking and Lifting

4. If equipped with 4 wheel drive, index-mark the front flange to the pinion flange.

5. If equipped with 4 wheel drive, remove the 6 front flange-to-pinion flange bolts and 2 washers and position the driveshaft aside.
Discard the 6 bolts and 2 washers

6. Remove the 2 bolts and the LH heat shield from the rear of the LH cylinder head.

7. Disconnect the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor electrical connector.

8. Remove the 2 transmission support insulator nuts.

9. Remove the CMP (Camshaft Position) bolt.

10. NOTE: Make sure the transmission jack contacts the outer ribs of the transmission fluid pan.

Position a suitable high-lift transmission jack under the transmission. Raise the transmission until the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor can be removed.

Remove the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor.

Installation

LH exhaust Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor

1. NOTE: The bolt must be torqued while the transmission is raised

Position the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor and install the bolt.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

2. Using the suitable high-lift transmission jack, lower the transmission and install the 2 transmission support insulator nuts.
Tighten to 103 Nm (75 lb-ft).

3. Connect the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor electrical connector.

4. Position the LH heat shield onto the rear of the LH cylinder head and install the 2 bolts.
Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

5. If equipped with 4 wheel drive, position back the driveshaft, align the index mark and install 2 washers and 6 new bolts.
Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

6. Position the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor and install the bolt.
Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

7. Connect the CMP (Camshaft Position) sensor electrical connector.

Thanks! So if I’m looking at the engine from the front of the truck that bank two sensor A is which side? That’s a thing I can’t seem to find it looking at the engine if you could have a diagram etc, of the engine and a indication of where it is located that would be great. The dealer replaced the sensor the other day. And then the check engine light came on again so he’s ordered a pigtail wiring etc. The dealership is an hour away from me I’m just trying to see if I could mess with it just to get it to work so my truck doesn’t drive badly.

Drivers side is the location.

I attached a picture already. The left side is the same. It is on the very back of the head and not easy to access.

I lay across the top of the engine to get back there.

No, the sensors are in the back of the head by the firewall. See the picture I posted and they are on the back of the head.

So, this right here “wire” how the heck do I get to it is there easier way? I just want to unplug the sensor clean it off and plug it back in just to see if that works before I go to my car dealership appointment on Monday.

Yep, that is where they are.

The instructions tell you to get it from underneath as I posted.

I was able to get them from the top by laying on the motor and moving the harness out of the way.

An engineer designed that, go figure.
