How do you get the heater hoses off so you can pull the heater core? There is only a very small area to access the hoses under the hood and there is not enough room to compress the clamps. What am I missing?

Spring type clamps, down in a hole, what a thought. You almost need a hose clamp tool that is cable driven and will get to them, there is such a tool. I have cut the clamps in the past, with a dremel tool, but I now have the pliers. If you are replacing the core, you could break the nipples off. If you get the clamps off, you may need to use a prybar to assist in sliding them off the nipples, and put worm drive clamps back on them for serviceability.
