1988 Cadillac Deville car wont start

I bought and have been driving this car prior for about two months then one day drove it about 5 min. Down the street and it hasnt started since the lights come on but motor wont turn over. Please help

Does it crank over and will not start or just won't crank over at all/nothing

Yes it does not crank at al/nothing thank you for responding I would leave a donation but been out of work for eight months

No problem, lets check the battery condition if okay make sure its cleaned and properly tightened and cables are in good shape

Have helper hold key to cranking position and you bang on the starter if it kicks over-Replace starter-If not check the park and neutral switch and ignition switch
