1995 Buick Riviera OBD1 or OBD11 Systems

Good day folks.I have a 3.8 V6, Supercharged 1995 Buick Riviera. Which OBD System do I have? Is there a great reference book especially for my car?. Thanks. Michael Vitiello

You should have a OBDII on your car. If it has a 16 pin connnector then it is if it has a 12 pin connector then it's OBDI If it's got a14 pin connector it's pprobably a OBD II as well. You will need a scanner to pull the codes and you can go to trouble code definitions to find out what it is on this site under popular links. check out our repair manuals for your vehicle at https://www.2carpros.com/kpages/auto_repair_manuals_1.htm

The 1995 Buick Riviera is an OBDI vehicle with and OBDII plug. I ended up purchasing an ACtron CP1950 scanning tool that has all the adapters for scanning OBDI vehicles with OBDII plugs. Not cheap but worth it. The codes may be different from some published ones, but the scanner tells you where the fault lies. I needed it from when the dealership screwed up my car.
