2003 Buick Regal car won't start

2003 Buick Regal Automatic

This morning my car would not start. I jumped the battery and after awhile I was able to start it but as soon as I released the gas it stopped. I also checked the battery connections and they are tight.

Welcome, are you saying it cranks good but won't start or it won't even crank? Is the security or theft lite flashing, when you try to start? Try a different key.

It cranks and starts but as soon as I let off on the gas it stops dead. There is no security or theft light. The car only has one key.

If it runs off idle, but, won't idle, I'd check the idle air system. Clean the throttle-body.
