Fule pump whine

I have a 2002 Buick Century with about 150,000 miles on it. I recently had the plugs/wires (replaced), fule filter (replace) and injector cleaned. When I got the car back the fuel pump whines. The mechanic said he checked out the "pressure" and everything read fine and that he had another one come in recently doing the same thing. He can not find anything wrong and says it is fine. I have used this tguy for 20 years and trust him but the drive to work is hazardous to say the least of Nashvilles interstate. Should I be worried? Is the car about to need a fuel pump. I have already replaced the transmission, shocks, tie rods and brakes earlier this year. Is it time for everythign to start tearing up?

Thanks

It's generally believed that a fuel pump whine means the pump is on it's way out. However I have a few customer's whose cars have that and had it for a few years. It is still cheaper to drive that car than to replace it, statistics prove it. If you plan on 7 to 15 cents per mle that your drive, that will probably cover the repairs and maintenance.
