Electrical problem
2001 Buick Century 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 94000 miles

My left turn signal is flashing very fast for the last week. The check engine light also came on. Now my right turn is flashing fast.
I had a new battery put in about 5-6 months ago when the"service engine soon" light came on. I went to the dealer who said nothing was wrong and charged me $108 to reset something.

Sounds like you have some turn signal bulbs that are out. As for the SES light, you have a code in the PCM that needs to be address. Do you know waht code they found the last time?

It was a code p1404 which all they did was recalibrate the pmc.
The lights on the turn signal are NOT out, they are working but they just started flashing fast! Someone, not a mechanic, told me it could be the alternator?

Is there four lights in the front. Some of them had a smaller bulb also in the front and when tthey burned out the lights would go faster. Or it could be a flasher. I have never seen a alternator cause that problem. As for the ses light, you will have to get is scanned and see what codes are in it now

I'll have to check for 4 lights, I didn't know that. My wife took my car to her p/t job. I'll have to check it at 9:30 tonight or in the am. Thanks
