Broken key cylinder replacement

I attached the process for replacing the ignition lock cylinder. It states that the passkey relearn procedure has to be performed. However, I am not able to locate the process for this procedure. So I had to find it online and not in the manual.

Clearly I am not able to verify this procedure but it does appear to be accurate. The only thing I am not sure about is if a scan tool is needed. I found conflicting data but both may be correct. Meaning you can do this either with a scan tool or the process attached.

As an additional item, yes you can have the new cylinder re-pinned to match your original key. Most locksmiths can do that easy enough, they can also verify the keys functionality.
Then you install the new cylinder and perform the relearn process and should be done.
The one issue might be if the mechanic did any damage to the lock cylinder housing while breaking out the old cylinder. If not the above should work.
