Brake light off, but my emergency brakes are still engaged

Even with the brake light off and now the traction and ABS done came on.

When you say the brake light is off, I assume you mean the brake light that is in the cluster that tells you the parking brake is on and not the rear taillights.

If this is the case and the light is off, but the brakes are still applied, then we most likely have an issue in the system that we need to start with figuring out why the ABS and traction lights are on. More than likely these are related so let's start with checking for codes.

Once we know what codes are there, we will have a better idea as to what the issue is but here are a couple guides that will help with possible issues that would cause these lights to come on.

If you do not have a scan tool, then I would suggest asking around to any of your friends to see if they have one that can communicate with the ABS module. If it can't then it won't return any codes.
