When I'm driving at night and I have my lights on my break lights don't elluminate. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

You mean the tail lights not coming on or brake light not coming on when braking? Could have bad bulbs in both or fuse is blown.

Check wiring at both of the tail light assemblies, also check at headlight switch on dash, seems like ground wire may be loose or damaged.
